About the Founder -Shri D K Singh

Inspired by Gandhian ideals and determined to make a mark in the sanitation movement, Mr Dinesh Kumar Singh founded the Maa Samajik Seva Sansthan in 2008.

Mr Singh was one of the first to think that an NGO could provide ultra-modern facilities to the poor at reasonable cost. He believes that caring doesn't end at providing services but in continuing to stand by them to provide a sense of comfort and support.

He has provided thought leadership, and untiring determination to the Sansthan's work and continues to drive new initiatives with what he calls the "joy of giving".

In a democracy that is vibrant with dreams and aspirations, rooted in strong ideology and cultural heritage, it must not be acceptable in modern India to have a section of our people denied basic sanitation services and therefore, denied their health, safety and dignity. How can the idea of a modern superpower co-exist with the reality of open defecation and disease? Mahatma Gandhi placed sanitation above independence the British even!

The Maa Samajik Seva Sansthan also makes contributions to flood relief, immunization drives, mother and child care, supplementary nutrition, homeless shelters, school supplies and such social initiatives that tie in to our vision of a clean, healthy and open defecation free India. Under the guidance of our founder, motivated by our mission, our team constantly seeks to innovate our operational practices and know-how. The focal point of our efforts continue to be the underprivileged and poor who we pledged to serve from the day the organisation was founded almost 10 years ago.

They need to provide care for new born babies and ensure that all children below the age of 6 are immunized. They are expected to provide antenatal care for pregnant women and ensuring that they are immunized against tetanus. In addition to this they provide post-natal care to nursing mothers.

Since they primarily focus on poor and malnourished groups, they provide supplementary nutrition to children below the age of 6 and nursing and pregnant women. They ensure that regular health and medical check-ups for women 15- to 49-years-old take place and that all women and children have access to these check-ups.
